1821 with suspect toning?

Whats the verdict people? I think she is cooked on top of a light bulb or in an easy bake oven. Ideas, feedback.

you know if this coins was as nice as he says it is, and the color was original, which it is not, why wouldnt he get it graded as being original, the reason why? because it has been cleaned and the tone is not original. me, i would stay away.

Don't know for sure about the cleaning, but it might have PVC damage, esp. right above the eagles head------BigE

I agree, I believe the toning to be artificial. Original toning should blend in or look as if it is coming out of the coin(have depth) not appear to be on the surface.

There is a pretty good video out on grading mint-state coins By JP Martin, there is a segment on this video that deals with original toning vs artificial, with several examples.

Most of this sellers coins look suspect to me.......its a shame they seem to be of higher grade, but I guess they are hiding one problem or several problems. thanks all, I do have the AT video, its great but I do like to ask the board for opinions. t
