How would you compare grading of NTC slabs to PCGS or NGC? I don't know anything about NTC.

graded AU55 by them. It was a whizzed EF-40 at best.
Here is the heirarchy of grading services, in this order.
1.PCGS
2.NGC
3.ANACS
4.ICG
5.PCI
6.SEGS
7.NTC
8.ACG.
This the order shared by many of my numismatic friends and dealers that I know well.
Best regards,
Brian.
actually, it was an AU, and both shop owners I showed it to concurred it would probably cross with no problem. I should spend the $12.00 and get it crossed over.
I would cross it over. Wait until Clearwater-Jan.2 or FUN-Jan.10th, you can do it in person and
save outgoing postage.

are you going to Orlando?
Unfortunatly I will not be able to make it to FUN due to a business trip planned at that time, but
I will be at Clearwater ,Jan 2nd. I am always at the July 4th Clearwater show as well, along with
other shows in the area throughout the year.

Where is the Clearwater show? One day?

You Floridians know that your buddy Alan Hager is nearby and there seems to be an ACG-NTC connection. During the June Long Beach show
I visited a fast-talking dealer from Boca Raton (I think) who was selling junk and was bragging about how great NTC was. Being the newbie
that I am I ran away from him once he shut up for 2 seconds. There are some interesting coins sitting in NTC slabs and they're becoming
more common, just as ACG becomes more scarce due to its nefarious reputation.
Anyone have any information about this possible relationship? A lot of people are going after NTC coins. I myself stay with only
the three most reputable ones (I have a few nice ANACS), and I only have one ICG coin (a 1911 AU-58 $10) that I plan
to trade for a more pleasing representative of that type.

I have also heard about the NTC & ACG connection. I don't know if its true or not.
Brian.
The company was founded by a guy named Kevin McNerney, who owns a business called Island Rarities out of Boca Raton. Just like Hager, he sells his own insider graded coins on eBay under the handle Titanproducts.
