As the "easy" holes in my type set fill up, I'm finding the time between buying coins steadily growing. I need a fix!

I primarialy collect Lincoln cents. Fortunaly, I am blessed with wants that exceed my income. So this problem is alien to me. However, if I were haveing this problem, I would concider starting a shortset. I think the Walkers are beautiful coins. I also really like the look of MS Buffalos and Mercs. Since this would be a secondary set, not my primary focus, I would collect the MS examples of each in grades that are right below coins in "the money."

It would be a fun project, and not one that would require you to take out a second morgage.

  • You put together a great type set so far! While time between purchases is slowing the coins you are looking for are tough. Think of the accomplishment of finishing such a large and diverse set!

I felt the same way and almost bought a coin that wan't quite as nice as I wanted just so I could buy something. Fortunately I stopped myself in time! It is worth waiting for a nice coin.

    I love Bust coinage!

What's the old saying: A buying coin collector gathers no moss.

    Or something like that. image

  • LincolnCentMan, bless you for having the wisdom to recommend Walkers. Anyone interested in starting a walker collection, feel free to PM me.(Thanks Greg) I have helped add to, and started probably 7 or 8 of the quality registry Walker sets and love to help a new walker guy get a few insights to the set before spending money.
Itsnotjustme, hope you see Walkers as a worthy set. PM me if you would like. Hope your type set is where you want it, started there, but am letting mine go, a bit at a time, in favor of the Walkers.
Don't know how to hyperlink to the registry sets, but if you are interested, look at my two sets, Richard D. Graham on the short set, and Dick and Jan's Walkers on the late date set.image
