Hey Merc guys and gals, I finally made the front page!

Passing signals are on. Received 4 new Mercs today including my 29-D in 64FB that has been lost in the mail for 2 months. Nice dimes all. Nice to be on the porch with the big dogs!

Regards,

Wayne

    Wayne,

Nice group of additions. Those pre-1934 dates can be tough to locate. I just added a '29-D in 65FB yesterday, and it was late getting here too (must be something about that date).

There was a lot of red in the Mercs this week, but I don't anticipate any more additions to my set until the FUN show in a few weeks.

  • Congrats, Wayne. Nice additions. As Jim stated, we all know how hard it is locating nice early dates.

    Thanks guys and gals,

Yes, the easy ones are over for me, it will get tougher from now on. The early dimes are much harder to find, and much harder to afford.

    Tim, wives????? Yikes!!

Lucy, I'll be watching my rear view mirrors!! Hopefully, I'll move up a place or two so you won't bump me back to the netherworld.

Congrats, Wayne. I know the feeling of popping out on the front page. It's a nice one. You Merc guys and gals are super. I'm a Jeff man (1938) and cannot imagine -- at least not now -- pursuing a circ set back to 1916. Way to go!

    Al,

I've been laying low and saving my money for Orlando the week of Jan. 6. My want list includes a couple of Lincolns, some Buffaloes, a couple of Washingtons that I want to upgrade, some pre-1939 Walkers, and of course..... Mercs!! At those large shows, I can usually find a type coin or two that I have to own. Actually, I'll be happy to find just one or two coins in each of these categories. There's another series that I've been working on (slowly), that I'm keeping under wraps for now. I'm kind of like a kid in a candy store - too much to choose from! If I don't find some Mercs at FUN, I'll probably wait a couple of months before I do more buying.

Don't worry, even if I pass you, it will only be temporary. I'll try to remember the hand signals, if you promise not to give me any hand gestures in return. image You've got a great set that's all FB except for the '45-P; I'm not a fanatic about having a coin with FB, if it's nice otherwise. I'll take most of the early dates in 64 or 65 non-FB over a 63FB.
