Large cent help needed.

I have been going through an old large cent collection. I have spent many hours with Sheldon and Newcomb (now there is a book that could use some new photos) and have identified most of them.
Is there a publication with a guide as to rarity and value for "S" and "N" numbers?
I'll only brag about a couple of the cents I have identified so far:
#1. 1796 Draped Bust...S-100 Reverse "Rvd"....Sheldon states he has only found one and he donated that one to the ANS museum.
Low grade(AG), but I think very rare.
#2. 1829 Medium Letters N-9 XF-AU, a possible finest known and undoubtedly in the condition census.
This is fun and the rarity and value guide would make it even more fun.

  • Thanks, that is a great link.....
  • That's why I always tell people not to waste their money on the Newcomb book, it was greatly superceeded over a decade ago by the Noyes and book and John Wrights book for the middle dates and Grellmans book for the late dates. The Newcomb book is now just an historical curiosity.

Way to go on the S-100, tough variety.

    29 N-9 CC is 55 - 50 -45 - 35(3) - 30(5) - 25(4+) and those are EAC grades.
  • Both are on the way to ANACS as I type, special attention to the 1796 Rvd.
These coins belong to a co-worker of my wifes and I'm just trying to make sure he gets full value for his coins. This is FUN for me. Whatever he gets from these is his and I am loving it. He has a lot of great coin some dealer will not steal from him!
  • When you get them back I'd like to see scans of both of them. The draped busts are my specialty in the early dates and one of the few dates I collect in the middle dates are the 29's.
