at this price it dosn't seem to bad, but if you had the money to buy 4,000 rolls, you would end up with 5000 extra wheats and a $5 indian gold coin. This almost sounds like a good idea, as long as you re-sold the wheats on e-bay.
Six cents a coin? Are you nuts? You could buy the $5 indian outright with the difference between what circ wheats are worth and what he's charging for them.
value 2 cents each X 50 per roll X 4,000 rolls = $4,000 ( a buck a roll ) his price 6 cents each X 50 per roll X 4,000 rolls = $12,000
difference = $8,000
That would buy quite a few $5 indians.
Out of defense for the seller, wheats do typically sell for up to $1.50 a roll, but the math still generates a HUGE difference.
Rolls of wheats are hard, especially in circulated unsearched. At 3 cents a penny, that is $1.50 . Ship a 1 roll of pennies from the left coast to the other coast, and the actual USPS cost without insurance, delivery confirmation etc. is $2.25 - $2.75. Considering it takes 3 rolls to make a pound, and that same pound will cost you $4.25 - $4.75. to ship. Shipping makes itprohibitive and difficult to sell on EBAY.
However I have seen some goons purchase a pound of pennies on ebay for $6 - $7, and then pay $6.50 for shipping.

I agree with you that more than a dollar a roll is ripping someone off, but if you wanted that many wheats it's a nice little bonus.
