how far will they go?

I have seen colorized quarters, sac dollar, ASE's but this link is just a way to ruin an otherwise collectible coin.image

The REALLY sad part is that there are actually bids on that piece of crap!

and to top it off? The color scheme "bites." Is it my imagination or are the "A"s in America highlighted?

I think it's just camera angle that's making the 'A's look hilighted.

  • The colorized Platinum coin reminds me of Ted Turner "colorizing" classic black and white movies. Yeah, color is pretty, but it just doesn't look right.

I,m goning to swim up stream on this one and say I think it looks better colorized.Sorry but the `raw` coin looks ugly anyway. So this one looks like a good Jenny Jones make-over to me.

About the color...you could take the color off some how I imagine and probably not disturb one flowline.
    Right?I mean,Its Platinum.Thats about like Titainium isnt it?Tough stuff.

    yikes

I guess this is why we all collect different stuff. From my perspective, the Platinum coins are fabulous. As for this colorization, I guess this has been done more poorly at some point in time, I just haven't had the micfortune to see it!

All, I can say is that I'm happy to see that the top bid was less than the value of the metal in the coin. Thus, I would conclude that they have already gone too far, as they have succeeded in reducing the value of this coin by colorizing it. However, I must admit this paint job looks like it was done by a girl after she finished doing her nails (ugly).
