Hmm...seems like a problem in his math in his counter script...either that or the entire internet is interested in a couple of parial proof sets all of a sudden. I would vote for the former.
Strange thing about this one is that it's the stock counter provided by eBay. The URL is the same as the other auctions using it, but I haven't found any others that are whacked like this one.
maybe the seller has some kind of program hooked up on his home pc to constantly poll the auction listing url for activity. only thing i can think of (& i ain't no compu-wiz)
The one Braddick posted works (or uh, doesn't) but the others just say "thanks for looking". Maybe that's what they default to when the count gets too high.
Maybe it's a coincidence, but all the examples posted have 10-digit auction numbers. I looked at a few more coin auctions with 10-digit auction numbers (beginning with 33) and they also have the screwed-up counters.

I don't think a single PC would be enough, unless it's hooked to a VERY fat pipe. The counter is going up to quickly.

When they say thanks for looking, hitting refresh usually brings the counter back.

Well, 33 is half of 66, which is only one number away from 666. HMM...
