Another nice ICG coin

I'll have to start posting pictures of coins in other holders, before someone thinks I only have ICG coins.
This is a tuff coin to find in this grade with color and proof like surfaces. Hope you like it.image

Edited to add that if this picture was clearer you would be able to see the weave of the bag on libertys cheek

I love that kind of color with PL surfaces. Nice catch.

  • Great coin! I can't wait until I have the confidence in my grading ability to look at all the slabs. I've heard too many burn stories.

Braddick The luster of this coin does not really show thru on this picture. The coin also has bag weave on the cheek that does not show at all.
  • Tonedollars- Great coin. Frankly, I don't think you need to apologize for the ICG Morgan even one little bit. They may well have made some big mistakes with the modern coins, but their grading practices with pre-1950 coins are very strict and extremely consistent. Its become pretty clear here that most Members are pretty disappointed in PCGS' consistency, of late.

Karen- Don't be afraid to pick up some ICG Morgans. Buy the same date NGC & PCGS coins and compare. Be careful what you pay and you won't have any difficulty selling the 2 lower quality coins for a "break even". That would be a GREAT, true learning experience for you. It will go a long way toward making you more confident in your grading ability. image
