Does it look like this 21 Peace $ is ON TOP of the ACG holder?

It appears the coin shown is on top of the ACG holder and not housed in it.

What do you think? (The shadowing at 8:00 makes me think so, plus the look of the dollar compared to the rest of the photo.)

It's worth more outside the holder image
  • Maybe the coin Outside the holder is not the coin you're getting????

It does look like the coin is on top of the holder. Why someone would do that with that slab, I have no idea.

But don't worry if you were thinking about bidding - "WE OFFER A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE IF YOU ARE NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED ON MOST ITEMS" Now that's reassuring. image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • it's in the holder, the highlights on the holder circular rim are beneath the dollar
"I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather did, as opposed to screaming in terror like his passengers."
  • I think it must be in the holder.
No one would try to make it look like an ACG certified coin unless it was.

  • I think it's in the holder....but the real question is....has that thing been whizzed?
  • It is on top. There would not be a shadow on the slab if the coin were in it.

I vote for inside the holder. The shadow is likely the effect of seeing the shadow through the clear holder on the table. Look at the shine at 11:00 on the reverse shot. The slab is clearly "over" the coin there. I think it's an optical illusion created by careful lighting selection to show as much of the coin as possible, and they did a good job at shooting through the plastic as opposed to shooting the plastic. JMHO.

The obverse Does, but on the reverse you can see the glare from the holder over top of the word states.

Off topic a bit, but I wonder if sellers check their hit counts and wonder "why have so many people look at this coin and not a single bid!" It would kinda freak me out as a seller.
