Bulger's stuff's going to be in high demand if he continues to win.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Kurt Warner's troubled season officially came to an end Thursday when the St. Louis Rams placed him on injured reserve.

Warner will miss his second game with a broken bone in his throwing hand Sunday against the Cardinals. He was sidelined for five games earlier in the year with a broken pinkie on the same hand.

Wide receiver Dane Looker was elevated from the practice squad to take Warner's spot on the 53-man roster.

Warner, the NFL's MVP two of the last three years, talked optimistically Wednesday about returning before the end of the season. But the Rams have concerns about his hand, which has had three breaks since 2000.

``I'd like to play, but you look at the situation and it's probably the best thing, to get healthy,'' Warner said. ``You never want to be in a situation where you know you're not going to play the rest of the year and to sit out, but I want to get healthy and be able to do the things I'm capable of doing.''

Warner finished with 11 interceptions and just three touchdown passes, a far cry from his 2001 statistics. Last year he threw for 4,830 yards, second-most in league history, and 36 touchdowns."

Bulger, like Warner, is not going to do a thing w/o a healthy Marshall Faulk (and im talking about giving the ball to faulk too, not like in warners 6 losses in which warner passed more and gave to faulk less, you give it to faulk first and let him dominate and open the defense so you can throw, which is how waner prior to this year and bulger succeed)

It's not quite as simple as that, but I would like to see the Rams go ahead and shelf Faulk for the year too so he can get healthy, you don't want him turning into another Fred Taylor situation, where he's always a little banged up.
