e-bay feedback

After seeing the way people talk about the way e-bay sellers do busniess, i feel i should say somthing nice about them. I won a auction a week 1/2 ago sent a check last wed. and got pos. feedback today. I don't think he even had time to see if my check cleared (wich i'm sure it did) I don't have the coin and i do have feedback so there are a few good sellers yet.

Nice to hear, that's the right way to do it. I sold on eBay from 1996-2001 - I always posted positive feedback when the payment was received. I dunno how the modern day eBayers do it, but it should be more or less a no-brainer.

I may eventually get back into selling on eBay - no time, no interest for now.

  • I do some selling on ebay and when I receive payement, i post right away....it's good faith. If I receive a personal check from a person with significant positive feedback...I still post feedback right away. In the area of selling coins, many sellers wait until the customer is satisfied. When I receive payment, that person has met their end of the deal and they rate feedback at that time. My thoughts anyway :-)

I received a check in payment for an auction today, and posted positive feedback. I had asked for paypal or moneyorder only, and the seller sent a personal check. I looked at the feedback (81/1) and decided the risk of loss was small, and figure the buyer and I could both benefit from an easy transaction.

  • When I'm selling on ebay, I always post feedback as soon as I receive payment. I have enough positives (450+) that if someone were to try and blankmail me for a positive feedback (from them to me) I would simply tell them to pound sand. image

I always post FB when payment is received. At that point I feel the buyer has met his/her obligation by paying promptly. There are far too many sellers/buyers who hold you FB hostage. Those that do usually fear a neg because they deserve one and this is their deterrent.

As a buyer, I leave FB immediately upon receipt of the item unless there is a problem. I then take the issue up with the seller in order to work out a solution. Neg FB is a total last resort for me.

When I have sold, I post feedback when payment is received. I dabbled in selling this past month but I think I'll give it a rest for a few months. Maybe till after the Charlotte grading class so I can be sure of what I'm selling. image
  • It's nice to see that some people have trust in others. A while back I had a buyer email me that she was putting a check in the mail to me that same day. She had excellent feedback, and I already had to go to the post office and didn't want to make a second trip in four days, so I mailed her item at the same time. She actually got her item the same day I got her check! I guarantee you that was her fastest eBay transaction ever! image
  • I've been burnt, I posted positive feedback and TWO MONTHS later the buyer dumped on me lying about the quality of a bag of 5000 wheat cents. Notice I didn't say unsearched, I know what was in the bag.
I post positive feedback after the buyer posts. I buy and sell for fun, i don't need the money.image
