I bidded on and won a PCGS MS63 1900-O/CC Morgan dollar last month. Received the coin today, and needless to say, appearance-wise, the coin didn't live up to the scan, but, I do believe I have happened upon the rarest of the 1900-O/CC varieties: the Vam 9. And I got it for the more common variety money. So, it looks like I get a pleasant surprise about once every 14 months. Doesn't leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy, but this latest acquistion does.

Remind me not to bid against you 14 months from now. I think I saw that one on ebay, if that's where you got it from. Looked like a nice one from the scan. At least you got double compensation!
Here is seller's image
and my image Obverse Reverse (The line across neck is a scratch on the slab.
The difference is not as dramatic as it may appear. My purpose was to point out that when looking at the auction image, the coin looks very frosty and unmarked, whereas, in reality it has some scuffs as portrayed in my image. I'm pretty sure I would have bidded even if he used images such as mine, as it is a variety I wanted, but I imagine I might have been a little less enthusiastic about it. And who knows, I may also have missed getting this particular die pair.
So NWCS, is this the auction/coin you thought it was?
[Edited to add: Great find!]
