This is a real hard dividing point with most coins. How may "marks" are allowed on a ms 67 grade for a washington quarter if strike, surfaces, luster and eye appeal are all right on MS67 level?

Mark...the amount of marks on a 67 is very small...and the marks must be really small...a few ticks that are noticeable only when you put a 5 power glass on the coin. A 66 can have maybe one more mark and they can be maybe slightly larger. Both 66 and 67 Washingtons are very nice coins. The MS67 is a virtually perfect coin. To be a 68, a Washinton must have virtually no marks and have outstanding eye appeal, either great color or blazing luster...David
