Help on bidding thoughts, please?

fcloudfcloud Posts: 12,133 ✭✭✭✭
I am considering placing a bid on a coin that should go for well over $1000. What I would like to know is if dealer's freinds work with them to bid up prices right about up to the maximum bid. I've had coins of lesser value in which I bid on and they have somehow gone right up to a few cents of my bid and stopped. And it happened within a few minutes of my bid. I an willing to go upto a certain amount, and I know I will be at work when the bidding closes, so I won't be able to go in right at the end. Is there a good stratigy, or should I not even bother attempting to get the coin, I'll get sniped anyway?

Your help is appreciated.

Just snipe your max bid... they won't have any time to bring you up... look at my sig for a link to auctionsniper... it is free for the first few auctions, and, if your bid is high enough, it works great!

  • Tony,

Jeremy is right on with his suggestion. I use the Auction sniper program for all my Ebay tranactions. Your first couple of snipes won't cost you anything.
