I made a boo-boo with an auction, check out how I fixed it.

Well, I listed that I excepted Paypal payments but did not realize I would have to pay for Credit card payments but the Checking account payments were free...so, when this guy won my auction he imediatly paid with Credit card payment....Well, this is when I found out about the fees...image I know I was in the wrong but I E-mailed the buyer and explained the situation, I offered two free extra coins in the package if he would except a refusal from the Paypal payment and pay with M.O. or Paypal checking. They buyer was more than willing to do so and totally understood my situation (Not to mention the two free coins).

OK, so here is the kicker....While pulling out the two coins I wanted to send allong free, I could not decide which two out of the 4 I had available (4 different dates of BU, from original rolls, Lincolns along with the Slabbed Lincoln he purchased)....So I sent all 4! Clearly valued at more than the original cost of the slab I sold him...lol. Needless to say the possitive feedback I recieved was well earned and the E-mail I received was much appreciated.

There you go, a good coin related story (Factual story that is),
Ray

PS. in the email, this buyer told me to tell him when I had ANY more auction up, he would be more than happy to check them out (I bet hu?...lol)

Here is the auction, a click or two will show you his feedback to me image

Was the "Weird doubled Lincoln. $1 no reserve" real?

    Was this real?

Thank you all for your responses, I will have a few Lincolns up on Ebay soon, please watch for them. Spooly, as for the "Weird Lincoln" it was real allright, real bench vise damage as was mentioned by Dog I believe. An interesting piece, I added it to my Error collction and labeled it "Bench Vise".

Oh well, at least my lesson was only what 10 bucks?

    Thanks for inquiring,
    Ray
