1979 Lincoln Cent DDO?

I'm not a Lincoln Cent or and error guy. Anyone ever hear of this? If so, how common is it?

No 1979 doubled die obverse cent has ever been attributed to my knowledge. 1979 is a completely dry year for doubled dies on cents.

I was just looking some rolls, and, looking from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock, this one seems to show doubling on the date, "In God," and most of "Liberty."

Of course I (nor anyone else) can be certain one way or the other without at least seeing a good photograph of the coin, or ultimately, the coin in person. What you describe could easily be either machine doubling (worthless) or a doubled die (possibly valuable). If you would like to have the coin examined, contact me and I will give you the particulars of how you can send it to me. I do not charge any examination fee other than the postage to return the coin.
