Need help with this...

Can someone tell me how you arrive at the "Set Rating" number for a Registry Set?

If you prefer, please PM me. I'm using Excel and I want to add the formula to my worksheets. Everything else is done and I thought I would add that too.

Thanks.
Dan

    Figured this out the other day... as follows...

    Using the Washington Quarters as an example, go to the "view set composition" line and click...

    There you will find the weighting for each coin... the 32-d is weighted a 10.

    For the excel spreadsheet use the following columns

    1932 D = MS65 Weighting = 10 Total 650
    1932 S = MS65 Weighting = 9 Total 585
    and so on for all 83 coins..

    Add all 83 coins in the set using the same math and then devide the total number by the total of the weighting column (for Washingtons the total is 224.) You know have your set rating.

    You can use the "View Set Composition" or the "Bonuses for CAM and DCAM" (on proofs) links and copy that into a spread sheet.

    For example on a 1964 Proof Set, set columns A1-G1 with headings:

    A1=Coin
    B1=Weight
    C1=CA Bonus
    D1=DC Bonus
    E1=Your Grade
    F1=Cameo Bonus
    G1=Score

    In cells A2-A6 thru D2-D6 list the coins
    1964 1C 1 1 2
    1964 5C 1 1 2
    1964 10C 1 1 2
    1964 25C 1 1 2
    1964 50C 2 1 2

    In cell B7 type =SUM(B2:B6)
    In cell G2 type =B2*E2+F2 then copy and paste this into cells G3-G6
    In cell G7 type =SUM(G2:G6)
    In cell H1 type =G7/B7

    Type in your grades in column E plus the Cameo bonus in column F and your set score will appear in cell H1.

    It will work for business strikes as well, just enter 0 in column F

    Also, you can email BJ and ask for an xcell spread sheet if you need help building one. She has them

    Thanks for the help.

    Rather than spend the time figuring out what information was used I figured someone would know. I'm pretty good with Excel. Once I know what it is I need to put into the formulas. image
