Boy you guys are good!

I don't know how to tell between sm and lg I even bought some fancy headgear magnifier and it must take a while to get that good. so tell me any of these?

  • Amazing thing is I have never found any 1970s sm or lg in over 200 rolls of coins but I find 15 in a half filled coffee can from my dad.

    This is what I have done I have gone threw many rolls and sorted out all 50s 60s 70s and rolled them. I have 25 of these rolls with those 1970s dont know if they are small or large since i didnt know what sm or lg looked like then.

    Welcome Stacey. The easiest way to spot the small date is the lower loop of
    the "9". It is nearly horizontal on the small date and points down at about
    45 degrees on the large date. The small date usually has a lot of weakness
    in the "RTY" of "LIBERTY", but this isn't always true. There are other varieties
    for this coin and they can confuse you if you look at the other differences.
    There were some small dates made for circulation. Good luck.
