If the Lakers don't pick it up soon, they may have a hard time making the playoffs. They will need at least 41 wins to make the playoffs. That means they have to go 35-27 (.565) the rest of the way just to be the eighth seed. If they want to be in the top 4, they will need at least 52 wins, which means they will need to go 45-17 (.726). I can see them winning a one series without the home court advantage, but to win without home court for the entire playoffs will be very difficult.

At this point I think Dallas is the favorite with the Pacers as a darkhorse. The Webber issue may hurt the Kings.

Lakers don't need home court advantage in the play-offs.. as long as they're in it everything's ok..
  • Bibby returns Xmas day,Kings should do even better when he does, not that Bobby Jackson has'nt done well enough for them. But they will improve even more once Bibby gets his legs back.I like them for the Finals as I did last year.Came down to 1 shot against a strong Lakers team. They should have no prblems tearing through a wekaer Lakers this year,That is if LA continues their downward spiral.

Dallas is an excellent team but w/out an individual defensive player their zone will be ripped to shreds in the playoffs. No defense = No finals trip.

In the east.I see Pacers,Philly,Orlando fighting for the eastern conf. championship. They are the 3 strongest teams in the east.Nets and Celts will be 1st round playoff exits,And Kidd will be wearing a Sonics or Spurs Uni. next season.

    Just my humble predictionsimage

Lakers weren't THAT good last year.. they were better than the rest but I think the 00-01 team was better
  • i know for a fact lakers will turn it around and make the playoffs and maybe even win it, but I think kings have a chance...whats up with the pacers too, they are doing really good.

  • Yeah I was using the strong/weak to compare last year to this year. The kings thus far have'nt strayed to far from their season start last year. The lakers are on the oppisite end of the scale than last season,Hell even the Grizzlies were'nt scared of em'image.W/out going into a whole Lakers bashing thing alot of the Lakers strength (besides they're excellentplaying) came from fear other teams went in with a doubt about whether they could beat the champs. This year they're still the champs but show that sign of weakness. It's a mental thing as well as the actual playing of the game.

If the Lakers match up against the Kings again in the West finals this year and are just the slightest bit weaker than they were last season. The Kings will be in the finals. That Kings Lakers series was by far the BEST basketball series I have seen since I can remember,And like I said came down to 1 shot.Christie or Peja hits a 3 and Kings would have had rings.I take my fair share of shots at Kobe.Nut all in all I like the Lakers and the "daddy' but the thought of anyone else at all in the finals is exciting,It'll make for a nice change.

Alot can happen between now and then but my picks right now. Kings/Pacers Finals. It'll go to the Kings in 6 games.
