    Good grief Todd:

PCGS is making 70s again. With all due respect this will be a much lower priced coin shortly.image

    Let us figure 100 coins submitted @ $8 a coin is $800

You get a 3% rate of Proof 70 D Cameos. Am I correct so far?

You are charging at least $1250 per coin. You collect at least$3750

You profit is at least $2,950

I think I will wait for the prices to go down before I buy my

The prices will tumble fast and hard, IMHO, now that the word is out that PCGS is grading 70s again.

I wonder how fast the word will get out?

I wonder how the buyer of that 1987-W $50 for $6666.66 will feel. image

Looking on eBay there is a Buffalo dollar bid up to $2750 and it got several bids today. A constitution $5 is at $500. And that's it.

Yep, this is going to be very interesting to watch. I wonder how many PR70 panic sales will be listed over the next few weeks. That formerly rapidly appreciating asset that's been tucked away in the safe deposit box isn't looking quite so attractive any more.

One thing I truly do not understand is why people who spend relatively large sums on modern PCGS coins on eBay do not monitor and contribute more to these boards. In fact, the appearance of several PR70 coins on ebay reminds me of 1963 or so when a bag of 1903-O dollars surfaced at the mint. The owners of these coins were in a frantic hurry to sell them before the knowledge of the discovery was more wide spread. I recall reading of a dealer who flew to England to sell a couple of 1903-O dollars there before English dealers learned of the bag's existence. It seems that much the same is happening now, as sellers put their newly made PR70's up for sale on eBay. And that brings me back to my first comment: If I was spending a couple of thousand dollars for modern PR70 coins, I sure as heck would pay attention to PCGS's policies by hanging out on these boards. Indeed, even though I am not spending huge sums on PR70 coins, I hang out here anyway....image
