I would say that honor goes to the J228 in uncirculated. It is listed as an R1 with over 1250 minted and can be purchased in choice bu for under $1000. Of course the 1856 flying eagle cent is also a R1 pattern but the price is 10x higher.
The red book, the empty hole in the Raymond albums and the lore around the 1856 all contributed.
Bowers has a theory that the J228 was really struck for circulation and should be considered a variety, not a pattern. Makes for interesting reading....now if he was just in the business of making albums......
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. (Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose.

The red book made the difference.
