    NIce coin anaconda.

What do you suppose causes the white part around the stars and date??

Just curious as I have seen other toned coins and have noticed similar effects.

    Thanks

<< <i>That's amazing! what does the reverse look like? >>

    Some babe in a bikini.
  • Grade.....PEE! SEE! GEE! ESS! Mint State 68.

What's it worth? The owner told me it wasn't for sale...... I offered him $10,000 to start....he moved towards the coin, slowly
and gingerly removed it from my hands and slowly backed away, his eyes fixed unblinkingly on mine the whole time. He never even countered me. I suspect he's also never been forked in chess.

The reverse? Like my three years old's butt. White and clean.

White areas around stars and date -- little hidden caves under the overhanging stars, safe and secure from all sulphur molecules. Pristine......a testimony to the coin's virginity.

(GSAGUY - I knew I could elicit a strike from you with that one.....you best fess up.)

    Anaconda,

    My lips are sealed.

I've played a lot of chess, have even lost a game or two, but can't say I've ever been forked. What is it?

    GSAGUY

P.S. Nice photography, does that piece look as nice in person?
    image
  • Forked. It's when your opponent places a piece into a position where he will be able to take either of two pieces - you can only save one.

It essentially only happens when you don't anticipate and prevent (my moving one of your pieces) the scenario from occurring.

In other words, if you had countered my offer of 10K with 15K, I would have been able to say "accepted"....... and then you loose a piece.

    (oops!)

It looks as good in hand as it does on your monitor. On your monitor, not Cointoast's. He still has one of those green monichrome screens.
  • The tear under the cheek......Did you drop it?

    Here we go again!

I think I have seen that coin in person........during an evening of good conversation and great food. If I remember the luster under the color was flawless.

    Anaconda,

You were wrong, I have been forked in chess....................I just try to avoid it in coins.image

  • Nice, the toning even looks genuine. Correct color pattern, correct air transfer characteristics. Nice, very nice.

Hahahahaha, I'm gaining a reputation! Although I'm not sure it's such a good thing in this case...

I think the ol "fap fap fap" and "unf unf unf" was getting old, so I'm trying to find some new responses. image
  • You guys are too funny.

Now that is one very seriously beautiful coin with absolutely stunning color, superb!! When you combine that condition with that color, it's basically a name your price coin IMO.

BTW, I could beat ANACONDA or gsaguy in chess blindfolded and quite easily.

  • Dragon - I can tell, you want a piece a' me. I can see you now. You're lookin' down ya' long scaly nose at me, your lip on one side is pulled
back a little bit and quivering......you're ready grapple with the anaconda...see some anaconda guts at your feet......yeah baby!

Well, I want ya' ta know, I'll be slippin' off, actin' like I'm outa here, you'll relax just a little bit, and then WHAM! Anaconda teeth on the throat.
Growing chest pains. Breathing more difficult.....can't inhale. Darkness. Silence. Peace. No more blisters on your lips. No more knight under your fingernails. Just growing wetness around your snout as I have you for my lunch.

Cointoast. I have no questions about your education. Your education is demonstrated on these boards eveytime you hit the reply button.

  • Annaconda,

    I know this coin!!!

    Is it cert #21139499? image

    PM me.

I'd like to hear other knowledgeable opinions, but I believe that coin would bring between $16000.00-$23000.00 at auction in this market.

    dragon

PS: Anaconda, you shoulda been there when I handily defeated the 7th strongest Intl. Grandmaster in the world (at that time) and world champion Gary Kasparov's trainer, you woulda been proud........so what were you saying.........speak up please?image
  • Desert Lizard - correctomundo. That's one cool thing about coins like these versus modern crapolama. You remember real coins. The other ones are just fungible goods.

Dragon. Ok. I forfeit. Congrats. You beat me in no moves. Here's your trophy. Well at least your hands are a little clammy.

  • Adrain.....Your right I'm wrong (again)..Still a beauty of a coin though. Congrats!!!

Hoping you and yours a great Xmass!!!!!!!

I get it now. The airflow over the coin. This would tone some areas and leave the "airless" parts, such as the stars side and date untouched!!

    Thanks
    Guys.

If the owner turned down $10K that means I'll never own it, so I'm glad I have a picture of it. Thanks.

GREAT COIN. Doesn't get much better than that.

<< <i>he moved towards the coin, slowly and gingerly removed it from my hands and slowly backed away >>

Yeah some of these guys will do that to you.image
If It doesn't have great eye appeal, I don't want it.
  • Anaconda
If that one is giving you a chubby this one ought to atleast give you a semi. Its an 81-cc (yours is an 81-S?) in the GSA plastic, try and argue AT with this one. It's not a years wages (some people do make 10K-15K). either. You can own it. image

If you get the blank box try refresh or maybe the link and then refresh, This thing it screwed up.
  • Great toning, great condition. But why does the combination command such a high price? I'd rather have a better toned coin with a few hits on it for %20 of the price...
  • Thanks for the scan, what a beautiful coin image

Jim, your link to your picture is not working.

    Greg
  • It was working then it wasn't now it's working again. These guys need to fix this.
