IHC... Strike doubling in 1880???

Is this strike doubling? The "MERICA" in America is the strongest. Also, the 2nd feather from the bottom appears to be dooubled (more like a shadow). The "UNIT" in United also appears to be slightly doubled. Is this common with IHCs. My only reference book is the CherryPickers guide. Anyone have any ideas, or do I just have way too much time on my hands??

You'll have to fix the link first...nothing there.

  • It worked ok for me when I tried it. Try this one. Sorry the rez isn't the greatest. Is there a way to get better than 50kb uploaded?
  • Just about all of the indians have some sort of doubling. Much of the lettering has the Longacre effect look (where the dies are starting to wear) and the doubling can be seen on both side of the letters.
A 1943 copper Lincoln will still only buy a gumball out of the machine, but you can purchase the machine and the store with that same cent.
  • Your file path had a stuck in the middle of it.
