This isn’t a deep cameo, is it?

I hope no one gets burned on this one...

  • The obverse doesn't even appear to be cameo. Hopefully everyone who looks at it will realize this.

I think the picture has something to do with it- it is from the wrong angle and this is a PCI slab from when they were somewhat reputable... the seller does make an interesting point, though:

<< <i>This awesome coin is VERY RARE to find at this high a rating. This coin in a PCGS slab is going for as much as $11,000! >>

With that said, I think if he knew that much, he should try to cross it, or there is some secret... most likely not a 69, but the DCAM is possible- the mirrors seem awfully strong...

  • They didn't do themselves any favors with those pictures. I agree with Paultjuno... the obverse doesn't look cam, and the reverse looks anti-cam.

Is "anti-cam" to coins what a tooth darkening system is to a smile?

Even from the terrible scans, the coin does not look like a DCAM or a PR69.

Jeremy, this slab was right before their Gold Label days and NOT reputable. Look for a different font on that green insert for the timeframe when PCI was, NOT consistent, but produced some coins with grades either dead on, or very close (with a few undergraded).

  • No Braddick this is NOT the green label from right before the Gold labels. This is the second green label PCI slab that was used from late 1999 until Leslie Shade bought PCI in Sept of 2001. Then the third green labeled PCI slabs appeared and lasted until Beardsley purchased PCI in March of 2002 and began using the Gold labels. The second and third green label varieties can not be told apart from the front label. The key is the serial number on the back. The first green labels have a 10 digit serial number, the second green labels have a 14 digit serial number, and the third green labels have a 9 digit serial number.
  • No, hardly any frost on the devices at all.
  • Check out the BIN. LOL. Yeah right, lemme get my checkbook and buy that puppy!
