        62. The mark on the jaw would probably keep it from any higher.
Is it ex-jewelry? Might be a solder spot on the reverse rim can't tell for sure.

Hi Placid, I agree 62 seems like the grade it deserves from the picture. Too bad about the mark on the cheek. I don't think it's been used for jewelery? but I will look at the reverse rim a little closer. thanks mike

I doubt it since its in such good shape but the spot I might be seeing is above the second T in states.
      • Mike,

It seems like a nice common date lib eagle, I would go 61/62, but the obverse (besides the dings) seems a little off color, so that leads me to believe it may have been cleaned at some point. Then again, you have had terrific luck with raw gold, so it might be worth it. To me, I wouldn't pay more than $200 for it, especially since there are so many slabbed 62s for not much more. Let us know how it turns out.

Jeff- me pay over $200 for a raw $10 libertyimage. Actually my plan is to pay under $200 in case it is cleaned and still be able to get my money back out of it if I don't like it. mike image
      • I should have known who I was talking to! The master of raw gold bargains! I just snagged one tonight on eBay, check out the thread I started on it.
