Your kidding right!?!?!? Brett Myers dominated the Cubbies in his 1st start and pitched damn well the rest. Wolf will be an All-Star this year, at the end of the season he pitched amazing. Padilla is solid and an all-star. And Glavine, he's not old

Your expectations are way to high...

1. I dont think any of them are over 25?
2. Brett Myers was under .500?
3. We don't even have Glagine yet...
4. I highly doubt Wolf will be an AS
5. Padila is solid one year...so was Person...wheres he at now?

Man....another player bails for the big $$$. What else is new. Something is really wrong in baseball. This guy may be a good player but he is not worth that kind of money. Guess the only way you can win is to buy it, not produce your own players. I really liked baseball when teams could bring up a prospect and you can watch that player develop into something. Now when that happens some other team will just buy him from you. It's a real shame. I'm glad the Phill's decided to join the show (could they get a wildcard spot now?) but I'd prefer teams to grow their own tallent. I'm still glad the Yankee's lost and will cheer for them to get knocked off again.

Well, let's see, In order: Unproven, one good year, #3 guy AT BEST and definitely NOT an all-star, not a Phil... Now, in response to being mad becuase my "shatty @$$ team the Expos suck", "My" team has sucked since '94, If I was ever 'mad' because of that, I've since overcome it. A line-up with Thome still won't beat the Braves, who's the Phils rotation as of right now? Person/Padilla/Wolf/Myers/???Adams? They have no real 'ace', you can argue that Padilla is, but he's not a #1 on most contending teams. Thome will add offense, but all he's doing is replacing Rolen's bat. Last season they did nothing with a slumping Rolen, if Thome doesn't produce, they'll be kicking back watching Fox in October.....again.

And if he does not he will most likely go to the Boston Red Sox.


They are me 2 favorite teams so it is a win win situation for me if he does not go to Philly.

Also if he goes to the Red Sox I will get to meet him next year because I am going to get to be the Bat Boy for 1 Spring Training game.

Vincecarder, Thome's only a good player? Have you ever seen him hit one of those moonshots? He only had 50 last year. He's also a fairly good defensive player. Not to mention he's an asset to the community. Philly got a good deal and they're lucky to have him.
