Price check 1803 Bust Dollar

Can anyone give me a fair price range for a 1803 Bust Dollar that was graded by NGC as AU50? The only bad thing I can say about it is that it has very dark toning but the toning is very even on both sides of the coin. The strike and details look very good. I cannot see any problems or damage on this coin. I am just trying to get an idea what this should go for. Thanks, Frank

The coin should be priced anywhere in the $4.5K to $5.5K range. No luster, in the low end. With luster, higher end.

However, w/o seeing the coin in person, it's a shot in the dark.

  • Thanks prowler. I do not have the coin in my possession or I would post it. If I remember correctly the coin did have a nice luster. I will pay more attention in the future.

Please note that you asked how a coin like that should be priced, not how much it's worth. I feel that the majority of the ED's are priced too high.
