    His description sounds like a lot of bunk to me. When i was a kid coins were still brilliant UNC and white. at that was 48 years ago. Be cautious.
    ps there were also toned and dirty coins to

    Jeff always has top-notch brilliant / cam / dcam pieces. I've never had a problem with anything I've ever received from him. Don't think he would 'play' with them.

    Looks like an extreme case of H2S + 2Ag ---> Ag2S + H2 contamination image. I'm sorry...I couldn't resist image.

    I've done a fair amount of business with Jeff, and have found him to be very professional in every instance. I don't believe for a minute he'd jeopordize his reputation for the sake of a $200 coin. I think it is what he says it is. Personally, I wouldn't pay twenty bucks for it, but I don't think he AT'ed it.

    One thing to remember is that proofs tone differently than business strikes. Just as pure silver tones differently from coin silver, sterling or 800 fine. I don't see anything that really screams AT (by chemical) here. Doesn't mean I fully believe it's OK, either. I need to see it in person. I'd like to see it certified, though. Hard to make out the cam, though, for me. I'm leaning 70/30 to being air transfered and not chemically applied.

    I think it's real. The look is appealing or not. If I wasn't maxed out for a few days I'd grab at least one of those MintSets. There is one that is a particularly GOOD DEAL.
