Jeffersons..Coins..and Intercept Shield Albums

Well...I finally broke down and ordered an Intercept Shield album for my raw Jeffersons. I forgot what a nice set this is...all have been in 2X2's for years. I am giving each coin a good Acetone bath this weekend....prepping for the album. Is this a great country or what....Washing Jeffersons and the NFL. My questions is this: What are your opinions on this album. Do the coins go in easy (I ordered a pair of cotton gloves) and are the clear "mylar" slides away from the coins. The old Danscos seemed to scrape on the coin when you slid them in or out.

Thanks and enjoy your coins......

    Hi GQ
My plan was to use the IS quarter album that could hold 188 nickels. I also want to use an air-tite type holder for my nickels then place them in the album. This way the coins are protected from the album
page windows and each coin could be easily removed for closer viewing. Unfortunately, they don't make a direct fit nickel air-tite holder. I emailed them about it, asking if they could make one or direct me to who could and their reply was, "They don't make a direct fit air-tite nickel holder. Like duh, I already know that. So the plan is on hold for now. Yes, you will need to be careful when sliding those window
in and out and the kids just love to do that when your not looking. If your a scrutinizing collecter like myself and find yourself taking each coin out time and time again, you'll wear those holes out and then they will be touching the windows.
On a side note, I like reading your posts on nickels. Thanks.

I usually push the nickels back as far as they go, pressing my finger on the obverse slide, before sliding out the front slide. After I close the slide, I push the coins back up from the rear, so they are in the middle of the hole.

Is this the best way to do this, or do others have pointers?
