Question about E-bay bidding(links)

jdimmickjdimmick Posts: 9,604 ✭✭✭✭✭
For the computer buffs,

If I go to a link for an E-bay auction put up by one of the board members on this site, and bid thru the link, does this open my password for others to see or enable someone else to get it??

Or should I close the link, and open the auction through a new window???

thanks for any help

You can bid anywhere, anytime. Nobody will get your password, or any other info.

You'll be fine... basically, any auction link should look like this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=xxxxxxxxxxx

If it looks like that, then you are fine- if it has lots of crap after the item number ( '@' and other stupid symbols) then DON'T send the link to anyone... for example, don't link us to your MyEbay page, as that link will show your encrypted password

Basically, if the link looks normal like that above, then no one can get your password image

heck - I don't even know my password!

Thank heaven Windows saves it for me. If I had to logon I would be screwed.

With that said, if anyone discovers my password, please email it to me.

    Thanks!

Frank, when you find out, you should change it to something secure, like "password". It works for me.

SarasotaFrank, I don't have your email address. Your password is *******.

    You're welcome.
