How do you make a nice coin presentation?

I would like to enter the coin presentation competition at the next FUN show. I've never done it before. What do the judges look for? What makes a nice display over an average one? What things should I include with the coins? What things should I never do or will look bad to the judges?

Here is a good article on exhibiting. It explains the scoring system and walks through how a sample exhibit was scored.

It's on the ANA site, so people who don't think the ANA has anything worthwhile will probably want to skip it. image

Here is a link to the exhibit rules for FUN.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • Thanks for the link to the ANA site. That was helpful. I have the FUN show's rules, but they don't give too many details. Does anyone have an experences with exhibiting?
