Please Help Identify???

I purchased this on Ebay advertized as .999 fine gold and "marked as such". Upon inspection, it appears the "FG" mark stands for Frank Gasparro and I am hoping someone may recognize this and tell me what it is. I'll watch the forum for answers. Thanks for looking!

Looks like one of those Franklin Mint products. Whoever struck it, it isn't a authorized US Commem.

I found these on ebay- not your coin but looks to be the same obverse design. I wonder what your coins gold content is if any at all? it does look like real gold but my guess it's plated? mikeimageebay auction

If it is Gasparro, it may be a mint medallion made around the same time as the commems to drum up more money. I kinda like the design. It'd be great if it was pure gold. Frosted gold is magically delicious.
  • I do believe they are Gasparros work. They are not US mint made. Either Gasparro or Gilroy Roberts went to work for the Franklin Mint after they retired from the mint. (Possibly they both did.) It is very faint but it looks there might be a Franklin Mint mintmark below and to the left of the bottom of the torch,
  • Conder is right, they both worked for the Franklin mint. In fact, if my memory is correct, Roberts either established or helped establish the Franklin mint. image
  • I guess I'll contact the Franklin Mint and see if they can identify it. Thanks for the help!
