Lincoln lovers.....here's a cool but big image

I thought it was expecially cool because you could even see the vein in Lincoln's temple.

    Adrian,
What grading service slabbed this, and what did it grade?

Without reference to a reverse, I'll go out on a lmb and say MS66BN (though really MS66Colorful)

  • KlectorKid - someone probably gently glanced a moist finger tip off of it. The specs are what people sometimes refer to as "fly specs" however it is my belief that they are the evidence of a person who spoke while holding the coin in an unprotected way. Copper is a very sensitive and reactive. Like me.

  • FrankinWI - I was thinking about aucitoning off a short course in coin imaging. You know, something like 2 hours in Dallas at my computer
and camera with me showing them everything I know. I've given away quite a bit of info but still have a quite a few techniques up my sleeve and am still refining my technique all the time.

I guess that's all I need, another thing on my to do list.

Capturing good images is way more time consuming than I suspect you might suspect.

Nice coin! Even though it is a bit dark, I like the colors. Those black streaks almost look like permanent marker streaks. I wonder if they are something that is removable?
  • Say its an error that shows A. Lincon being shot and sell it to Kincoin for $100,000.

Now, that is a beautiful, original coin. I agree with you Adrian, in that I always have suspected that "fly-specks" are actually aerosolized saliva. I have a proof 1912, also designated BN, that would make a very good pair for that coin. Capturing decent images of coins, especially toned coins, is tough and I will try to provide a good image of my coin in a few days.
