Just got one of those American Historic Society Catalogs... oooog... some of the prices...

1987 Prestige set... $20 graysheet (I think... that's what I paid for mine)- $69.95
1936 Proof set... $7,999.95
O/C coins- 1c... $14.95 5c... $19.95 10c $29.95
30 steelies... $19.95
...then all of the "beautified" colorized crap...

Make them go away!!!

Jeremy

PS- Think I could sell to them at 3x eBay prices... so we BOTH make a killer profit image

  • If a serious collector buys a painted coin.............. The terroriest win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I will never buy a painted, or colorized coin after it has left the mint. However I'm not above buying a colorized coin issued that way. I have a couple of colorized coins from the Royal Canadian Mint. It's not something I would buy a lot of, but here and there if it looks fairly nice, yes. image
