A Survey of Liberty Seated Auction Sales, 1985-2002

In the latest issue of the Gobrecht Journal (vol. 29, iss. 85), my friends wrote the above titled article. I find it to be well written and very informative.

For those who do not have access to the Journal, the article -- the first installment covers half dimes and dimes -- is an attempt at tracking recent large auctions of Seated collections, and to provide a fairly convenient reference of pricing information of the key dates within this much overlooked series.

(I especially like it because they mentioned my only key date dime!)

Sounds like great information...I also need to get around to joining this fine organization. It is interesting changing gears from a series like Lincolns where so much information can be gleaned from hands-on experience and current sales to a series where there may only be one chance every few years to purchase a high grade example of or to gain current value data on a desired coin.

I have the latest issue of the Gobrecht Journal in front of me. The article by Augsburger and Low is one of many outstanding contributions on the Liberty Seated series. Like EVP, I am an enthusiatic member of the LSCC. It is the greatest value ( content and cost) of any specialty organization in Numismatics.
