my new FBL Franklin

GeomanGeoman Posts: 2,491 ✭✭✭
I just picked up a 1960-D PCGS MS64FBL Franklin. Nothing usual about it, nice white coin. BUT, I got it for only $30, which included shipping (registered mail and insurance). I looked at the PCGS online price guide, and it states $105 for this coin. How accurate is that price?

I got it from Heritage. Do you think they were looking at the non-FBL price when they priced it? I was the only bidder on it, and got it at opening bid.

Also, can you kinda judge the scarity of a coin in FBL against the price? The reason for asking it I have paid $17 for common PCGS MS64FBL Franklin's such as the 1957, 1957-D, etc. But I thought I would have to pay more for a 1960-D MS64FBL than I did.

Editied to add: Yes, got it in an Heritage eBay auction.

The PCGS price guide is 1) the suggested Retail price and 2) about as accurate as the local weatherman.

Still I think you got it at a good price.

Did you buy it in a heritage eBay auction?
On the heritage site they list that coin at $40-$65 for the value index.

  • Good score Geoman. I paid $39 + s/h for mine.

You got a good deal on that 60D. I've seen them go for as much as $100. 60D is a very good and underrated date in less than MS65FBL. Hang on to that one - it'll be sure to go up in value.

    Frank.
