With all the talk of what a coin is worth in and out of a slab, I thought of a new twist! What if Dansco sold their albums already filled(dont know if they ever did). PCGS starts making albums that are identical(or contracts with Dansco) and also filled with coins. Would the PCGS albums put a premium on the coins? Some say they dont collect slabs(or you dont slab their coins), partly because they like the way they look in albums, would these people start collecting albums like some collect slabs? Would they be accused of buying the album and not the coins?

How about this, new product for PCGS, you send in your completed set and they send it back in a SEALED album. (I'm thinking the coins are sonicly sealed into something like the five coin Whitman snaplocks. This would then be slid INTO the album page like the current slides do so that each coin shows in its own hole, and a rivet either plastic or metal locks the whole slide into the page.) Under each hole is the certified grade of that coin. It still slabs the coins for protection, and gives the appearance of an album. The slades can't be removed from the album so you don't have to worry about getting them mixed up. Of course if you upgrade a coin you have to send the whole album back in. Definitely a premium service.
This would certainly make your job a lot harder and your collection a lot more expensive.
How could you keep up?
