My pick to make money this year 2002 1/10 plat eagles

Here is my pick to make money this year. 2002 1/10 oz plat eagles in BU. So far the mintage is only 14,000 pieces and I heard that the mint doesn't plan on making any more coins. Here are the mintages for the other years:
1997 52,000
1998 66,000
1999 40,000
2000 28,000
2001 52,000

There aren't many choices this year to speculate with mint products but I think this one is good. I don't think they will go up like the Buffalo $1 or the Capitol Visitor Center unc $5 but I think you can make money buying them, waiting for them to go up a little and selling them.

  • My favorite thing to do with bullion coins like this is to buy them in bulk, then slab then and sell the MS-69's on E-Bay for about $25 to $30 over the cost of the coin and slabbing. Not many people slab the stuff, and there is always a market of people looking for them.

  • What else is the "HOT BUY" this year? I have my Ohio P Quarter Rolls.

I am not into investment so please do not use anything I say as investment advice, because I'm wrong 99% of the time. I think the 99 and 01 silver proof set will go up again and maybe that 02 we got last summer for 23.99 will go for 35.00 next summer. I think the gold bullion will be cheaper in the late spring or early summer if this mid east oil thing with Iran is lifted because that crazy raghead will flood the market with oil. what I seen cheap oil bring down gold prices. I don't know why.

  • You are correct about the mid east. If we take control of Irag, Gas will drop way down at first. The we will have to see what OPEC will say.

BMW-the problem with buying circ IKE $1's for speculation is that they will never go up enough to be worth your time. Sure they only cost $1 from the bank but 5 years from now even if you get $1.25 each it's not a good use of money. On the bright side you won't lose anything.

The reason why I like the 1/10 plat is that I bought mine for $63 and if the mint really doesn't strike any more I think they'll go to $90-$100 and I'll sell them. If it happens I think it'll happen in a short period of time. If it doesn't I will lose a few dollars a coin but not enough to really get hurt.
