Percentage of old collections graded?

Knowing grading services are gradually certifying the majority of the coins of significant value, what percentage of remaining old-time collections remain raw? At some point, do you believe they will all be graded? Are there any large obscure collections still in vaults?

There's no way to know the answer to the question. There are obviously less big time collections ungraded than there used to be. However, every year or two a big deal surfaces that i had no idea existed. I do know from looking at the Pop Report for 1860 to 1900 proofs that we have probably graded 25% to 35% of the surviving specimens. There's going to be plenty of coins to grade for the next several decades. However, I do feel that the Population growth for vintage coins has slowed and will continue to slow as we grade a bigger and bigger percentage of the surviving specimens.
