Stunning, Breath Taking, I think the best design of all time

Sorry about the poor Image folks but i just gotta say Old and new this has got to be the best design of all time. I went through 50 Mint tubes today and have 50 more to inspect. Looking for
Weird happenings in the tubes. not much going on other then a few quality issues here and there so far.
about 50 tubes left to go .

Great coin in all respects... I like the walker's eagle more, though... especially on my new 64

Normally the face of a coin is interpeted the same way a map or globe is, north at the top, south at the bottom, east and west at the right and left respectively. To me that has always been a setting sun and I have always felt that the design was backwards. It should have been made with Liberty walking to the right and had the sun on that side.

I think the walking liberty is a winner, just edging out the $20 gold(St. G) probably for one reason, IMO, Gauden's face is a little anorexic, while the walker's has perfect balance and definition. Sorry Lucy...

I have developed a great love for the design on the SAE. I proof yes its stunning. The design, I always thought that she was walking into a setting sun at the end of the day. She is holding olive branches symbolizing peace. There are no arrows in the design. I summised that she has been victorious and is going to rest after battle. TROYAU: That britannia is very nice too. But I would have to come to the darkside for that. Under the table...DO they produce a silver version?

Yes, a truly great design. I had to spring for an MS66 Walker for my type set. The MS65's just didn't have that "blow me away" strike with the full feathers on the reverse. While the modern SAE is great on the obverse, the reverse (IMO) is pretty lame. The Walker half reverse is a beautiful complement to the stunning obverse.

Now, the $20 Saint Gaudens in Exteremely High Relief proof... I don't think you can top that.

The original design is the outstanding design of all time IMHO. The re-vamped design is also very attractive. If an originial Walker could have been struck with the same technology of today, it would be hard to say that it would not be the most beautiful coin ever. Imagine the originial design in a true PR69DC grade. Shiver me timbers.

I bought my daughter a 1991-S PCGS PR69DCAM one of these since her birth year is '91 and her first name is Sheila. It is truly a beautiful design and the DCAM look is awesome. (My daughter now has a complete set of PCGS 1991 PR69 DCAM coins and she loves them!! She likes them a lot better than her Dad's "pennies!")

Yes the britannia is quite the beauty! I guess the design is what the collecting is about for me. I still look between the pillars of the lincoln memorial for the seated president. I think that is what holds my interest in the state quarter series. Some of the designs were gorgeous. I need to look into picking up a britannia... Nice design.
