Occupation token?

I just bought a Illinois occupation token on an internet auction. It looks silver in color and I am guessing it's a couple of inches across and square and says department of finance on the other side. Both sides have 1 1/2 on it. Not really sure what it is maybe a tax token? Thanks mike
