Oreville - It's good to see they've saved all the posts on this server. February 2001 is when the new forum was created on FuseTalk, prior to that we were on a different server that was painfully slow. Everyone who joined prior to the change were given a "Feb 2001" start date.
Paul, when you write that the old board was painfully slow, I think you are actually being kind! Remember how bad that was? My computer used to time out just waiting for a thread to open!
By the way, it is really cool to see an answer I gave almost four years ago and have it be the same today.
Not only was the site slow but most of us were probably still on a dial-up connection compared to the high speed stuff they have today. You did not even want to get a post with a big picture on it.

Well then, you must feel right at home over on the NGC board. It takes forever to load for me, and I'm on a T1 line.

Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
My favorite of all was Scotty and his bust dollar.
He could paint a mean picture with that backhoe.
That puppy is still lost in the dirt somewhere.
I have to think someone here saved some of the old greats on their drives.
I want to think Dog might have something.
Now that I think of it some of us might spend too much time here
