Coins from Mint Sets

David, I appreciate you taking the time to answer our questions.
Early this year I submitted two colorfully toned 1962 Roosevelt dimes that I personally removed from Mint Sets. They were returned in "body bags" with "questionable toning".
I also submitted a 1987-P Washington Quarter from a Mint Set that was graded as AU58.
Any chance of a review of these coins? None of them are worth much, but I guess I am discouraged with the results of coins I know are original.
Any suggestions for preventing this in the future? Perhaps I should submit the coins in the original Mint plastic (enclosed in flips)?
