keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
I was looking through eBay on an SMS search and came across an R & I "Special" so i blew my coin allowance through the end of the year!!! i really don't think anyone can go wrong with 1965-67 DCAM's.
this is my first, and not from a lack of trying. i always get beat at the buzzer or just haven't had the cash or the guts to spend it. i once hesitated on a 1965 kennedy PCGS MS64DCAM and when i decided to move it was too late. not this time!!!

  • Dazzler Al - you're right - those high end 65-67's are tough - I've been looking for good circulation strike Kennedy's from those years and when you find them, you better pull the trigger because they'll be gone in no time.

  • Keets - Glad you didn't have to pay any more than that for it. It's been on their website for $450 for a little while now.......... in fact you can go to their website right now and still buy it for $450! image Hmmmm........ this could be kinda fun couldn't it........... hmmmmm........ image

edit-----just went over and sure enough, there it is!! it still doesn't dampen my excitement about getting the coin.
  • Wow! Look how deep the fields are on that 1965. The 1965 planchets were the poorest prepared out of all the SMS coins, it is a real surprise to see one so heavily contrasted. The Jefferson's are especially tough in DCAM. Good job keets!!!

I suddenly have a bad case of SMS envy.image
  • A 1965 DCAM is a pretty cool thing to have.

And that's a solid piece. Congratulations!! image

Wow! I wasn't much impressed by the description, but the coin is among
the best I've seen. Incredible cameo!

Only 10 Jeffersons have ever been made in DCAM for 1965. And, that one is recently graded which means it is likely a better coin than some of the others that have made the designation. Nice acquisition!
