are you guys ordering 2002 kennedys from the Mint on Monday? do you think that because something like 4.5 million have/will be made it will make them semi rare?

kind curious on this one. I am not a kennedy guy but am considering buying 200-300 of them.

What's up with the Mints' price. Can't you just wait and get them from your bank at face???

Gonna wait for a condition report from you guys that buy them. If they are anything like the 2002 Sacs sold by the mint I do not want any. The nicest 2002 Sacs are from the 2002 mint sets and I'm guessing the same will be true for the 2002 half dollars. The mint states that the halves are "circulation" strikes, does that mean weakly struck?

I just can't see getting them in bulk when you can get what you need for a collection for next to nothing. I have an MS67 and an MS66 in my collection - the result of breaking up one mint set and picking a coin up for $15. Can't see going into it any further than that!

last year for them and low mintages.

I'd say it's a crapshoot. Look at the 1987 Kennedys. None struck for circulation. 2,890,758 were struck at Denver and the same number struck at Philadelphia for mint sets. They're listed in the red book at $4.00 for MS63. The story may be different when you get up to MS68 and higher. I'm not familiar with the values in that range.

will they be released into circulation or are these just coins for sale to the public from the mint? if it's the former, why not get them at face and if it's the latter why not do like misterR suggested. i'd also bet they'll be all over eBay by early to mid january.
