If you ebay You MUST read this one

I was trying to find out what the fraud bad guy from w.va's ebay id was. So i went to the discussion boards on the community link on Ebay. This is must reading for ebayers. Go to the discussion boards and then to the "safe harbor" discussion board. I didn't find the bad guy's id but there sure are a lot of scams going on that we all need to be aware of. Very interesting reading.

You know, we complain alot about crappy dealers and coins-but who here has been ripped off during an eBay transaction? Maybe
we should keep a running thread about this.

Personally, I have never had a fraudulent transaction. I know I've been a pain to deal with sometimes, but with only a few exceptions the sellers have been understanding and I have always received the merchandise and refunds. Even my very first one (when I bought-before I knew better-ACG-graded Gold!).

In my early days of ebay, I sold a 350.00 item to a guy in Hawaii. He paid me by credit card on the phone. 3 months later the bank sucked the money out of my checking account. I could never get a reason why and he would not respond to emails.

I doesn't surprise me. It only took a couple of auctions in non coin related areas to find there are buyers that look for miss-worded auctions just to take advantage of a policy or lack thereof. If I move on I will open an account just to use the hard-line approach (because one basically has to) to keep a bottom line out of the red. Jump to the Paypal area to make youself feel real comfortable with that deal,,,,,, oh yea, that's the ticket...
