The Cross That Didn't Cross

Anybody ever had a coin that they sent in to cross that crossed and a cert number was given, and they didn't put the coin in a PCGS holder??
Sounds wierd, but the following cert number 60056387, a 1972-S Ike MS68 is in the PCGS system, but the coin came back in its original ANACS holder.
Of the five coins I submitted, two coins crossed, and two didn't (and the criss corss mentioned above). The two that didn't cross are labled DNC on the invoice look up service, but the Ike is listed just like the coins that they crossed.
Go figure!!!

That's weird how it happened to you and with the same coin!

I don't get it. So I'll start with a definition:
Perfect - In a state of undiminished or highest excellence; without defect; flawless; a perfect specimen.
Ok, so PCGS's grading standards are tight. But how in the hell can you grade a coin MS70 when another service grades it MS68 (we'll give it boarderline MS69 because of the tight grading standards)? I wish I could see that coin.
I'm not doubting you, really! I just can't believe collectors continue to support such outright lying! I mean, what else would you call it? So you miss, give a coin MS66 when it's really MS65 or 64. I'd like to know how you miss PERFECTION? PERFECTION is just that, PERFECTION! How do you miss that?
Whew, that's mind boggling! I've never been able to understand that.
That is an easy question to answer.I sent a NGC PR68 CAM Lincoln.I was told by PCGS they could only grade it PR66 RD.I had expected to loose 1 point and maybe the Cameo, but sisn't believe for a minute it was less than PR67.

Do you think that gets back to tighter grading at PCGS, or not wanting to agree with the competition?
I now hold also two PCI coins that are amazing, but not what PCI cracks them up to be: One is a 1943-P Steel cent in PCI MS69 and the other is a 1943-P Jefferson in MS69. I also have a 1965 SMS Kennedy is MS69. I like all three coins but certainly they're not MS69's!

Braddick - Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I'll be successful as well.

You sir, are just too kind!
<< <i>I saw the PCI Ike MS70, thought it was a solid 68, but the price didn't work when you factored crossing fees. Braddick - Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I'll be successful as well. James >>
Right. On the 1972-S's it doesn't (unless you're a collector), but the 74-S I had cross from PCI to PCGS certainly WAS.
Dam- I am too kind to PCI. Rumor has it they are NOW tightening up a bit because of all the bad press they've been getting and the ribbing they've received on all the coin bulletin boards. Time will tell though. And, sadly, by then- no one may care anymore.
