I'm one happy NCS customer!!

Bought a rare pattern in 1998 at the Portland ANA. Heritage called it P65 but it was raw - a bad sign. It had PVC. So, the price was right and I bought it. A dealer removed the PVC and it looked good to me....but neither PCGS or NGC would certify. Along came NCS recently so I gave them a try. The did their thing and forwarded it on to NGC. It came back yesterdat as NGC P65!imageimageimageimage Needless to say, I'm thrilled. Total bill - $65.50.

Will post pics later tonight - gotta make some hay while the sun shines so check back, if interested.

Have edited to add the pics - the bottom 2 are representative of the appearance currently. I can't find the original photo file of the coin pre-NCS - should have reshot it with the new camera/technique before sending it in. The new pics are accurate - the old ones retouched to lighten and were borrowed off a old Shutterfly (Dell) file. The streaks in front of the face are some of the criss-crossing die polish lines.

NCS is the conservation arm of ngc. you can personally submit coins to ncs and if they are able to present an undamaged coin to ngc they will send it next door and it will be graded. if it has problems that ngc won't deal with, ncs will slab with a notation of problem and detail grade. fees are reasonable, they do very nice work, and there is a grade guarantee if the coin is in an appropriately graded slab from an approved grading company, where if after they conserve the coin, if ngc grades it lower you will be compensated for the fair market value difference. it is a great service.

Forgot to mention, I sent a ANACS P63 pattern with the other coin. They returned it to me saying they had nothing to offer service wise, left it in the ANACS holder and only charged $5 for the evaluation.

You don't have to be a dealer. Go to the NCS website, then contact them. They will send you a orientation/registration packet.

I have heard that they will be going "dealer only" soon. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that though. I have had decent results from NCS also.

  • I hope they don't go dealer only.I gave them 50+ when I was down there and I have more.

There are NO dealers in Richmond Va.
I would have to drive Hrs.
  • I haven't gotten my coin back from NCS, but their customer service has been great thus far - hope things turn out as well for me as with you guys!
