I don't know anything about the card.. (hell.. I don't even know anything about the sport).. but $500 to a $7 BIN is a VERY big drop..

I just looked in the new Beckett, and there was 12,000 of these put out.
The current book value is a whole $2.50 It shows that one AU card was put
into each gold set produced. I wonder how long it took him to autograph
12,000 cards?

it was a high priced card at one time.Taylor was the Yankees #1 pick and a hot pitching prospect.Destined for greatness until an arm injury did him in.Don't think he made it past Double A ball

Keep in mind that very few auto cards were produced back then so it was rare from that perspective

the arm trouble that Remster mentioned if i remember correctly was a result of a fight that he was involved in..it was actually a shoulder problem he suffered. also think the yankees paid him a million dollar signing bonus. what a waste of talent
